BlackJack - The game

July 22, 2008

The game is a challenge between the players and the bank. First of all betting. Bets are generally free, except for a maximum limit established by the house. Some specifications about bets: - they can be located in front of each bettor, but also in other spaces on the same gaming table, the same can be done by any other player standing at the back of the other players sitting

anyone betting on the corresponding place has the right to play, among the bettors, the one betting higher is the first having the right to play. After the bets, the bank take off the first 5 cards from the sabot, to prevent using them. Then cards are dealt face up clockwise to all the players, included the bank.

The same operation is repeated with the second card, but this time the card of the bank is dealt face down. At this point the initial phase of the game is completed: every player knows everyone’s points but not those of the bank. The bank begins the last phase of the game: beginning with the first player, he/she asks each one if they want another card, and each one answers : hit, if positive; - stand, if he/she doesn’t want any more cards. This goes on till the player get as close as possible to the value of 21, and at this point from the table immediately, going to the next player.

The operation goes on till the 7th and last place. If there are still players left in the game, the bank show the 2nd card deciding what to do. Two conditions have to be respected: - with up to 16 points, he/she must hit; - with 17 or more he/she must stand. After making his own decisions, the bank goes on to the other players: - collecting the bets of those having a smaller number of points; - freezing for the next hand the bets making ties; - pays the ones who made more points. Obviously, if the bank got bust, all the other bets will be paid.
